Nearly two years into the pandemic, we find ourselves in the hold of the virus once again. With the new variant driving this third wave, the surge in cases is displaying numbers that are not anything like what we saw with the last two waves.

While healthcare and essential workers continue to relentlessly toil through these two years, relief efforts from civilians have also scaled up to meet the growing needs of those directly affected by the disease.

Mumbai-based, Altry: Gifts That Matter is a virtual platform that allows you to make donations to the NGO of your choice. The platform aims to rethink the idea of gifting by extending it to a range of social causes that people can contribute towards.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Altry has tied up with several other organisations that are working towards COVID-relief to create a larger congregate site that would alternate as a one-stop destination for any kind of COVID-related donation/volunteering.

The campaign titled Rise #ForMumbai by Altry is primarily aimed at raising funds for hunger-stricken families and individuals in Mumbai. On their roster are 6 NGOs carrying out the groundwork and distributing relief packages to the affected population.

Amongst these organisations, Yuva helps provide frontline workers with daily home-cooked meals. Save The Children India is another NGO that provides ration, hygiene kits, and wages to individuals with disabilities, under-served children, and sex workers. The roster also contains four other NGOs that are working towards several vital causes.

The pandemic has taught us the power that the community holds and Altry is leveraging the same to help Mumbai get back on its feet.
