There are very few things that can replicate the feeling of sipping on a smooth Gin & Tonic or drinking a chilled, tall glass of cold brew. With the gin revolution that India has been witnessing, there has also been a shift in how India consumes coffee – past cappuccinos and lattes exists a world of coffee renditions that homegrown brands provide us with.

Forward-thinkers in spheres of both, gin and coffee, Greater Than (by NAO Spirits & Beverages) and Sleepy Owl Coffee, have come together to create – you guessed it – coffee-infused gin. No Sleep is India’s first coffee-infused gin and is a limited-release creation. It is currently available in Goa, Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore, and will be available in Delhi by the end of January 2022.

“The coffee-infused started off in 2017 as a delicious cocktail experiment by my co-distiller, Jay Dhawan. We’ve since served it at many bars, occasions, and events. It was his idea to put the cold brew straight into the bottle and it is this we are so pleased to be able to bring out to the world and keep his legacy alive.”

— Anand Virmani, Co-founder and Distiller

The two homegrown brands are set in their principles and use only 100 per cent Arabica coffee (from Chikmagalur) cold brew in the gin distillate. The result is, “An intersection of the coffee’s bold, fruity aromas, with the crispness of the classic Greater Than Gin”.

When the idea for India’s first coffee-infused gin came about, it was a no-brainer. Chikmagalur produces some of the finest coffee in the world, and we’re so excited to share this with customers through an ingenious drink that goes beyond a cup of coffee.”

— Arman Sood, Co-founder, Sleepy Owl Coffee

The combination of coffee and gin may have co-existed solely in cocktails but not anymore. With this remarkable brainchild of Greater Than and Sleepy Owl Coffee, be ready to taste the best of both worlds!
