For some reason, you are not dead.

How long have you been asleep though?

You wake up struggling to breathe. You think to yourself, “Why am I in a box?”

Your throat is in pain, skin feels dry yet you are sweating profusely.

A sharp beam of light enters the box as it slowly opens, only to reveal your partner standing above you. “Welcome back, love,” they say.

Dizzy with all the thoughts running in your head, you struggle to realise you are now in the backyard - also a graveyard. You see yourself stepping out of a coffin.

“I brought you here to make you one of us. Now you and I can be together forever,” says your partner, calmly. Traces of what happened make an appearance in your mind but are quickly overshadowed by an unexpected need to hunt more humans, just like your partner.

With a sinister smile on their face, your partner says, “We don’t ever have to leave the mansion again. The petty humans that walk by will be our fodder. Master will look after us. We must never betray Master.”

You look down at your now skinny hands with your veins sticking out and your nails double the length they were. Your hair is all matted and your clothes all torn. As you both float your way back into the house, the craving for blood only gets stronger.

Your entrance into the house is quickly followed by a knock on the door – “Hello? Is anybody there? Please help! My car has broken down!”

Without hesitation, you and your partner look at each other and softly murmur “Must make master happy” before heading towards the door.
