Payal Jairaj is something of an oddity in the alternative music industry. Considering she spent close to three years in telecom in Dubai, it certainly wasn't what she had envisioned for herself either. Four years in however (she spent a few years at Submerge before joining KRUNK) it's pretty evident that her unplanned entry into the world of musical events was fated. Again, this makes perfect sense because over the past few months i've come to appreciate her fatalistic attitude. It gives her striking individuality in a space that adheres to norms, albeit the untraditional ones. And in her case, it masks itself in a positivity that's always comforting to be around.
We found this playlist especially unique because it's so unabashedly open-minded. She doesn't let anything entirely dictate her preferences in sound even while taking what she loves about them. She herself admits she has no preference of genres which is probably why you'll find that her playlist spans across everything from Bollywood to Bob Marley.
Without further ado, here's a musical map to her life.
I. Getting Up & In The Shower
I'm a closet bathroom singer so it's fun for me to start off my day with a fun track like this.
II. At WorkLuckily for me, I work for an event company, so we usually have music playing in the office all day but every once in awhile, I still enjoy plugging in my ipod for some personal listening. These are some of the ones I enjoy while i'm at work.
Because i'm never partial to any particular genre. I'll listen to everything from Ghazals to hardcore psychedelic music but I love interspersing it with retro once in a while, kind of like this.
III. At Noon. These are my Monday blues tracks. I enjoy playing this around noon at work to drive them away.
IV. Walking HomeSince the weather has been kind, I enjoy walking home these days. It's about 40 minutes and I wouldn't be able to do it without my Ipod. At that point, these are the tracks I enjoy listening to.

V. Weekends
Umm..these are usually dedicated to Bob Marley. And these are some of my favourite tracks.
