In 1967, The Beatles sang ‘I get by with a little help from my friends.’ Guitarist Chirag Todi’s latest single in collaboration with Yohan Marshall too talks about how our friends can get us through tough times. With Chirag Todi on the guitar and Yohan Marshall’s vocals and drums, the song makes for a good bluesy listen. ‘You’re just buried, in self-doubt you’re -– always changing your mind/ Rain and thunder makes you wonder – about, leaving all things behind/ Be easy, I won’t let you just crash before the flight’ go the lyrics of the single.
Ditty In We Are Faraway Friends ‘Rain Is Coming’
Faraway Friends (a collective founded by Indian musician, Ditty along with Austrian drummer and producer, David Raddish and German rapper, Keno) are back with their second single from their upcoming album. The title track is a celebration of the joy that accompanies the falling of rain. “It is inspired by the limitless potential of water. A Drop is just a drop but on joining others, it becomes a force of nature. This also applies to every social or ecological movement. Only together we can achieve change. When we respect Mother Nature’s ways: Water crosses borders; water cuts through walls. Water is shapeless. Water is priceless. Water is life,” their label, Viva con Agua Music, wrote while releasing the song.
Mohit Sengupta ‘Level Up’
Delhi based rapper Mohit started exploring the desi hip-hop scene during the coronavirus induced lockdown. The result of that is his latest single that is about being confident and taking pride in all our big and small achievements. The intent behind the music too is to get the listener feeling confident about themselves. His clear and simple lyricism is sure to get you lip-syncing the chorus as you hear the song and leave feeling like a badass.
SOS ‘Play Lo-fi At My Funeral’
There is a sense of easiness that rapper and singer-songwriter Vrindam who plays under the moniker SOS’s laidback vocals add. There is a sense of melancholy that dominates his EP Play Lo-fi At My Funeral but his soothing vocals make it a calming sonic experience. The EP is a perfect listen for winters when all you want is for music to make you feel warm while you snuggle in your blanket.
Vishwa R Shankar ‘Warm Moods’
RnB Soul singer-songwriter Vishwa R Shankar’s debut single Warm Moods bring forth the tenderness in his voice along with lyrics ‘Feel some warm moods with you/ Feelin’ all the warmth next to you’ that adds to the mood of the track. There is also a certain sense of intimacy and brooding that Shankar’s evocative voice lends to the single.
