Not only will you finally get the exercise that your body’s been craving but you’ll learn a little something every time you strap on your helmet and take to the streets. With tours in Bandra and South Mumbai, this company has a range of fun events at all times of the night and day so there’ll always be something to fit your busy schedule. They focus mainly on heritage and nature themed rides across the city. They usually host two curated events a month, you can keep up with their schedule on their Facebook page.

II. Pedal BUNNIES
If you’re looking to take it easy, this is probably not the group for you. The Pedal BUNNIES meet every morning at 8 a.m in Juhu, during the week their ride to BKC but on weekends they make it as far as Haji Ali. If you join, you can even suggest your own routes and get your own group together but keep in mind that these are folks who take their rides seriously so don’t bite off more than you can chew.
What it will cost you: It’s totally free to join, but you’ll be expected to have your own bicycle and equipment.
III. The Happy Cycle Shop
For over 75 years, this store on Pasta Lane, Colaba has been keeping the joy of cycling alive. On Fridays and Saturdays it stays open all night so if you’re nearby and have had a little too much to drink, maybe you could grab a bike home instead (although after a certain amount, that may not be wise either). This cyclist oriented community aims to be your one stop solution to all your biking needs. Be it accessories, apparel, services or just a new group to cycle with, they’ve got it all. Every week they hold events across the city to raise what they call ‘cycling awareness’, which are usually held on Sundays and are open to everyone.
What it will cost you: Nothing, but you need to bring your own bike and refreshments
If you want to get some exercise but can’t seem to give up your foodie habits, this is the place for you. They meet twice a month at various locations around the city and together find new places to eat as well as revisit the old favourites. They announce their routes a few days before the meet and you can join anywhere all the way.
What it will cost you: Depends how much you intend to eat really, since you’ll have to bring your own bike.
VI. Buddy Riders
If you’re really trying to slim down through cycling then this group is the perfect place to find company and motivation. Their rides start at the crack of dawn at a new place every day and ride as far and as long as they can, saving their longest journeys for Sunday. They’re pretty strict though, you need to attend at least one ride a month to remain a member, so no slacking off!
