The Indian audience’s appetite for alternative culture has been brewing for quite some time. The music scene itself has been brimming with newer artists, collaborations, venues and fandom. It’s no surprise that a lot of international experiences are eager to carve their space in this growing landscape, and DGTL Bengaluru 2020 festival is perfect example of that.

What Is DGTL?

DGTL is a global music, arts and sustainable festival coming to Bengaluru for its first ever edition in Asia. With editions in Amsterdam, Chile, Brazil, Barcelona and Madrid to name a few, DGTL distinguishes itself with its festival sustainability program and a mission to become the world’s first circular, climate neutral festival by 2020, which includes being completely waste and emission free.

With a focus on India’s vibrant creative communities and subcultures, DGTL’s foray into India, especially in the context of Bengaluru, is a testament to the power of its evolving underground movement. DGTL Bengaluru will present an opportunity for festival-goers to explore intersections across sound and visuals through stages with raw and industrial settings, captivating art installations, mesmerizing visuals, seamless indoor-outdoor experiences and an artist line-up that celebrates industrial nostalgia.

How Is It Different?

A festival of discovery, inspiration and surprise, DGTL Bengaluru 2020 will represent a new paradigm of entertainment in Bengaluru. Besides its focus on music, DGTL Bengaluru 2020 brings a mix of unique art installations and revolutionary sustainability projects. The Bengaluru edition will push the boundaries of sustainability at festivals by experimenting with state-of-the-art innovations to close material loops, eliminate CO2 emissions and increase environmental awareness. Notably, DGTL is making a sustainable impact on the global festival landscape, and earlier this year it received the International Greener Festival Award for the work it has done thus far.

To meet this goal, the festival fundamentally redesigns its event. All year round, DGTL searches for the latest technological breakthroughs and innovations to close material loops, eliminate CO2 emissions and increase environmental awareness. And the call for entries are open.
