Back in 2008, a monster machine called the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva sparked a sense of frenzy around the globe, the tremors of which were felt in my eighth grade classroom in Delhi. This was the year when doomsayers had already predicted the end of the world if the largest man-made machine ever built, that aimed to study the fundamental particles of matter, began its operations.
