While making our imaginary bucket list, most of us dream of going on cruises and making stops on picturesque ports around the world. It is not long before reality sets in and we go back to our busy lives forgetting our hopes for experiencing scenic views from decks of ships while taking bites from exotic dishes with complicated names. Don’t you worry anymore, because this Indian couple is bringing your dream to your doorstep. This November, the city of Mumbai is to witness the unveiling of its first and largest ever dining rooms on the Arabian sea.

The owners of the restaurants and husband-wife duo, Mridul Thirani and Shripriya Dalmia Thirani are entrepreneurs from Delhi.“People in this city love to work hard and party hard. We wanted them to have a brand-new place to relax and what better than the middle of the sea, looking at the shoreline – the imposing skyscrapers creating a perfect silhouette against a setting sun.” Mrs. Thirani said. It is the first ever floating restaurant on the eastern sea. It all began with the idea of Mr. Nitin Gadhari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, to open Mumbai’s eastern sea and turn it into a Riviera like those that can be seen in countries in the West.

The restaurants are Turkish ships named Queensline Neverland & Queenline Sea YAH. They are to be parked few miles away from the Gateway of India and have the capacity to hold 450 diners each. Passengers will be be picked up from different points across the coastline of Mumbai and taken on board the ship. They are to experience a dining session coupled with a cruise that would allow people to see the city from the water. The food is said to be a selection of best flavours from around the world. “Imagine a classic Turkish vessel standing majestically off the coast near Gateway of India. Adding to the historic view and a delectable feast, this vessel will have an international feel to it from the outside and have the warmth of an Indian embrace from the inside. A meal ceases to be just a meal then. What it ends up becoming is a feast for all our senses,”Mr. Thirani told the press.

The unveiling of the ships is to happen on November 10, 2018. Mr. Gadhari along with other dignitaries including the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis are to inaugurate the restaurant. Mrs.Thirani hopes to make the ships ideal places for people looking to have a fairytale destination wedding. Indian families won’t have to travel too far to seasides to make their dream weddings come to reality anymore . “The two ships can be a perfect hosts, one for the bride’s side and the other for the groom’s,” she said. Being new to the food and restaurant business, the Thiranis hope to demonstrate their sheer love for the city and its waterfront through this endeavour.
