Noir Literature Festival

If murder mysteries had you finding something suspect in every situation just so you could solve the mystery, or if your curiosity to find out if who the murderer was compelled you to turn the page faster than you read - this literature festival is crafted just for you. From the 27th to the 29th of January, the capital city is all set for the third edition of the Noir Literature Festival, and we’ve got our note pads at the ready. The festival will include crime and thriller writers from across the world who will examine the genre of crime fiction to see how it influences society and reflects the blurring lines of right and wrong.

With a vast list of some of India’s best crime writers as speakers, the festival holds great promise. Some of the speakers are Abheek Barua (City of God), Aditya Anand (The CEO Who Lost His Head), Arjun Raj Gaind (A Brief History of Death), Ashwin Sanghi (The Rozabal Line), Giampaolo Simi, Hans Olav Lahlum, and Jock Serong to name a few. Over the course of the three days, you can hear these writers on the art of crime writing, their personal styles and the journey of their writing.

If you’ve got a Feluda of your own who is pages away from being born, now is your chance. For the first time, The Noir Literature Festival is organising the Indian Crime Fiction Prize. The best piece of short fiction stands to win a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a plaque. The best 25 stories will be selected by a panel of eminent judges of which the top 10 stories will be published by Westland Books as a book (with an introduction by best-selling writer Ashwin Sanghi), and the rest will be published and promoted by Kindle Direct Publishing.

If that hasn't got you pulling your fedoras out and getting into the zone, then know that the entire festival is completely free of cost! What you still waiting for? Get to it!
