Prateek Kuhad, the star singer-songwriter whose compositions are mostly inspired by his personal relationships, has recently released a music video for his song, Kasoor, something he wrote way back in 2017. The new video, which is shot by Kuhad’s fans themselves, consists of smiling faces from all over the world telling you about their first love, their first kiss, their first sexual experience or their first break-up through their expressions. The video is a thoughtful and inclusive curation of people from across the gender spectrum, age and walks of life. Through such a varied curation, the video takes you through a range of emotions from different people all over the world, thereby highlighting the universality of love. Actors Jim Sarbh and comedian Mallika Dua and Kunal Kamra could also be spotted in the music video.
In talking about the making of the video, Prateek said, “I have about 15,000 email subscribers on my mailing list - these are all fans who have signed up over the years. So, I sent them an email asking them if they’d be interested in being part of a project (they didn’t know it was a music video at the time) and many of them replied positively. So we sent them a video with a bunch of questions and prompts and asked them to react naturally on their phone cameras and send that video back to us. We got around 400 videos back! Jugaad Motion Pictures used these to create the final music video.”
Kasoor is available for streaming now.
