A Guest Chef Series event featuring Chef Delzad Avari and his Maasi (maternal aunt), Hira Wadia, is going to take us straight into a Parsi tradition. A Parsi Bhonu is a celebratory feast reminiscent of a traditional Parsi wedding, overflowing with fragrant dishes passed down through their family for over 80 years.

The Parsis, a Zoroastrian community who arrived in India from Persia centuries ago, have created a unique culinary experience that blends the bold flavours of their homeland with the aromatic spices and techniques of their adopted region. Food plays a central role in Parsi culture, serving as a cornerstone for strengthening family bonds and fostering a strong sense of community.

Guests will be treated to a selection of iconic dishes that have been cherished by the Parsi community for generations, promising an explosion of textures and tastes as Chef Delzad and his maasi recreate their treasured family recipes. One highlight is the Patra ni Macchi, an iconic Parsi dish featuring succulent fish enveloped in a fragrant green chutney and steamed in a banana leaf, resulting in a flavorful and aromatic parcel. The Mutton Pulao, a celebratory rice dish cooked with tender mutton, fragrant spices, and nuts, is sure to tantalize taste buds with its rich and layered flavours.

Another standout is the Dhansak Dal, a rich and flavorful lentil dish simmered with meat and a medley of spices, offering a hearty accompaniment to any Parsi meal. The Jardaloo Sali Marghi showcases succulent chicken pieces cooked with sweet apricots and a touch of tangy tomatoes, providing a unique sweet and savoury balance.

This exclusive event is designed for true foodies who appreciate the intricacies of Parsi cuisine. However, it is important to note that due to the nature of the menu, there will be no vegetarian or vegan alternatives available. Many mouthwatering dishes, among others, will grace the menu at this unforgettable Parsi Bhonu, incelebrattion of the richness of Parsi culinary heritage.
