Returning from their monsoon hiatus, The Table Farm is ready with the third edition of their farm to table workshop this Saturday, the 10th of December. The hands-on workshops aim to have participants be a part of building the next phase of The Table Farm. Started by Adrienne Thadai of Fresh & Local and Gauri Devidayal of The Table, this is a crash course in the farm to table ideaology - right from planting seed trays and transplanting seedlings to harvesting and preparing a meal. It also includes feasting on a gorgeous meal made by the chefs at The Table, using ingredients from the farm. Oh, and there’s wine - need we say more? Post lunch, you can expect a little art project to keep your creative juices flowing, and Adrienne is willing to give anyone advice on starting their own little home garden.
The Table is one of Mumbai’s first restaurants to bring the farm to table concept to life. The Table Farm is located in Sasawne, Alibaug and was kicked of in 2012. The entire idea sprung from a vision to source the freshest and highest quality ingredients, directly from the farm to the restaurant. With approximately one hour from farm to restaurant, one can be assured of the freshness of the ingredients. The Table joined forces with Fresh & Local, a company that specialises in urban farming, to make this possible - and currently, they are growing heirloom tomatoes, spinach, beetroots, radish, microgreens, coriander, lettuces, and edible flowers to name a few.
Participants will need to be at Jetty no 5 at the Gateway of India (jetty located opp the Taj hotel entrance) at 9:00 am sharp and can expect to return to Mumbai by 5:00 pm. Read Speed boat trip - hell yeah!
Cost: The fee of the workshop is INR 4500 inclusive of food and wine. You can book your ticket here.
