We can flirt with minimalism all we like with clean lines, neutral tones and Scandinavian restraint. But let’s be honest: we’re not beige people. In India, our homes are drenched in colours and patterns, be it a splash of indigo on the dining table or sunset orange curtains with one of the countless designs that come out the subcontinent's regional textile traditions. Our sense of home and comfort are built upon these little details.
It’s this very instinct that pulses through Bottega Pereira, a mother-daughter brand born not out of trend-chasing, but from a life fully lived across two continents. Fiammetta Pereira arrived in India from Italy nearly three decades ago, chasing the kind of adventure that ends up changing everything. She found love, built a family, and slowly immersed herself in the world of Indian textiles by getting her hands into the warp and weft of it. Over the years, she learned the fine details of weaving, block printing, and dyeing, soaking in techniques that stretch back generations.
Her daughter, Tanitha, grew up in this world shaped by colour, culture, and the warmth of a home where art and everyday life Intersected often. With a background in visual communication, she became the fresh pair of eyes that brought an instinctive aesthetic to the brand. Together, the two built Bottega Pereira, as a shared expression of their memory and journey.
Bottega Pereira's ethos is based on how things feel and not just in a purely tactile way, though there’s plenty of that as well in their soft cotton sheets, sun-drenched linens, and richly dyed fabrics. They cherish how objects fit in a home; by their emotional resonance. Think aprons that remind you of your grandmother’s kitchen, or napkins that look like they’ve hosted decades of dinner conversations. There’s a lived-in ease to their pieces, grounded in real homes and real people.
Their collections span the length of home life from bedsheets in warm tropical prints to floral cushions that add character onto a sofa. The colour palette pulls from nature — leafy greens, burnt turmeric, dusky rose — always earthy, never overdone.
Fiammetta’s years working with artisans, Gerard Pereira’s business backbone, Tanitha’s styling eye, and even Dylan — the family’s youngest, whose love for Italian food often spills into their brand’s pop-ups and gatherings. Over the years, they’ve travelled across India, hosting pop-up stores, meeting customers face to face, understanding what people are looking for in their homes, and in their lives. That on-ground presence shaped their approach of listening, adapting, and creating with the heart.
Principally against sterile, impersonal design, Bottega Pereira becomes a playful yet elegant way to built your home in a way that feels like it's your own. Every piece carries warmth, story, and soul.
