FT.WA, a pioneering Pakistani brand blending London's urban dynamism with Karachi's raw essence, has unveiled its latest collection. 'The Resistance Capsule', ignites a powerful narrative of solidarity and identity in support of Palestine. Anchored in rebellious ethos and sustainable streetwear, the brand's centerpiece, the 'Zahrat al-Uqawan - The First Female Palestinian Resistance Movement Vintage Design', encapsulates the poignant story of Palestinian resilience.
At the core of this collection is the iconic Palestinian Keffiyeh, a symbol entrenched in the country's storied history. Evoking the struggle and unyielding spirit of the Palestinian people, the Keffiyeh serves as a visceral reminder of their enduring resistance against decades of oppression. Originally donned by Palestinian farmers to distinguish themselves from the urban elite during the Ottoman era, the Keffiyeh emerged as a potent emblem of nationalistic fervour during the 1936–1939 Arab revolt. Later championed by Yasser Arafat, it became synonymous with the Palestinian struggle for self-determination.
FT.WA's latest drop features the barbed wire Keffiyeh design in the front pocket and a print of Nariman Khurshid, a Palestinian resistance fighter who, along with her sister Mohiba, founded and co-lead the Zahrat al-Uqawan (Chrysanths Flower Movement), on the back.
