If you haven’t been to a holi party in your life, suffice to say that you simply haven’t lived. From sneaky bucket turnovers, water balloon fights, and the showering of colour to the occasional ‘Pick-up-and-throw-into-giant-water-body’ move and bhaang in all it’s forms, holi really is everything it’s made out to be. As you can well imagine, any party that descends into this level of chaos requires a little bit of a heads up - you need the ingredients; colour, balloons, sunglasses to save your eyes and hide your intentions, and of course, all white everything. With holi just around the corner, you’re in luck - Modern History, built on connecting people to artefacts, traditions and tales from the past all coloured with a modern design aesthetic presents its very first offering - The Holi Kit.

Curated by Parixit Bhattacharya and Ankur Rander, founders of Modern History, the limited 50 Edition Holi Kit includes the box, 6 collectible mini-bottles, 1 organic soap of 40 grams, 100 water balloons, 1 t-shirt, a pair of sunglasses, 6 color packs of 200 grams each, a pocket book and a Modern History Tote bag. The only thing missing, they say is a water pistol because “ our designers have no particular love for poorly designed plastic guns.”

Modern History was created “to make things that give people stories. The Holi Kit is one such thing. We think of Modern History as a collaborative platform for experience curators. Making products that blend function, form and feeling beautifully to give people a great experience is what drives us”, the duo said. The team has also said that there will be two more experiences curated this year.

The Holi Kit costs INR 3500 and delivers over 4-5 working days across India. If this aesthetic is right up your alley, and you haven’t got your holi on as yet, we suggest you get yourself a kit - there are only 28 left - don’t say we didn’t warn you!
