Citizens of the country has erupted in protest against the grossly anti-secular Act (Citizenship Amendment Act) passed in the Parliament on 11th December, 2019. These anti-CAA demonstrations were captured by photographers around the country in many unique ways. Amey Kadam, from the Rocking.Company (a design agency) in Mumbai captured the anti-CAA rally at the August Kranti Maidan in the city through Infrared/Areochrome photography. It was done so, in order to emphasize the passionate rejection of the violation of the constitution. Infrared photography is a look into the invisible world, which the naked human eye cannot see. It makes visible, the wavelengths beyond 700nm. It also produces some very distinct effects which make them aesthetically pleasing, and is therefore sometimes used to produce surreal colour landscapes. Infrared photography, in colouring a sizeable portion of the photograph uniformly, serves the intent of the protest by bringing forth the unity of the people irrespective of their religions, castes or backgrounds.
