First Look: Koramangala's New Social Is A Jungle Paradise Meets Workspace

When we talk of combining work and play, no one’s got the mix down like Social has. It’s success speaks for itself as the doors of Koramangala Social open in Bangalore, the family’s newest member. Social has changed the game with their collaborative work spaces, incorporating all that startups stand for - networking, creative outlets and of course, beer. Despite having nailed the workspace module, they are nowhere near tuning it down. The Koramangala Social is unlike anything we’ve seen before - located in the hub of startups in Bangalore, the 13,000 square foot space is a visual extravaganza.

Enter, and you are reminded of the scene in Jumanji where the trees take over the building and come cascading down to the floor. Inspiration has been drawn from the Japanese concept of Shinrin Yoku, which translates into “forest bathing’. Research has shown that being in a forest environment, or the closest thing to it, boosts the immune system, decreases stress, and increases energy levels and the ability to focus - all good things for when you’re ready to crack down at your desk. This version is one up on the rest what with wi-fi at your disposal! The design of this new Social is a stab towards sustainable architecture and gives Bangalore reason to reminisce about the garden their city once was. Walk up onto the second floor, and the sky is the limit. Literally. A terrace opens up giving you space enough to recharge, or unwind after a long work day.

Designed as a greenhouse in which one would have a Herbology lesson at Hogwarts, this Social boasts of being the largest collaborative work space with one hundred dedicated spots for the working bees. The best part about working out of here is that you have the option to work out of any Social in India for when you need to travel. For when you’re done working and playtime beging, who’d say no to a cold beer on a terrace  and fries under a canopy of trees?
