The Pole House: This Australian House Literally Looks Like It's Floating

As we were exploring captivating homestays for the long weekend, we admit we got a little ahead of ourselves; a floating luxury rental home all the way in Australia caught our eye and we just can’t stop thinking about it. No harm in a little escapism from time to time, right? From the architects behind the Australia F2 Architecture, comes this extreme illusion of a house that appears to airborne, floating nonchalantly above the coast of Southern Australia. From any other angle, it becomes apparent that the structure is supported by a pole, holding it up at a height of 40m above the slope, but it is the bridge at the entry is the approach that upholds the illusion that it is hovering - get rid of that acrophobia and cross the bridge to the building and Fairhaven Beach and the Great Ocean Road below beam back at you in their picturesque glory. At AUD$440 and 1,220 a night, this sounds fantastic for those who are looking for something over-the-top.
