Ever since St+Art India began adorning our city walls with beautiful murals and setting up life-size art installations, things haven’t been quite the same anymore. Almost a year ago, St+Art breathed life back into one of the oldest docks in Mumbai with their Sassoon Dock Art Project. And is currently in the midst of their Coimbatore project. But besides completely changing the look of our cities and adding that much-needed burst of colour, St+Art’s recent initiatives have achieved the impossible in that it has brought art closer to the community. Historically, and to a certain extent even today, art has been perceived as a rather elitist interest. But that’s changing by the day and this first-of-its-kind organisation is leaving no stone untouched to make that happen.

For most of us, the consumption of street art is limited to fleeting glances in between our commute to work. Seldom do we find the time to step back, admire, and absorb the nuances of an artwork plastered on the walls of our cities. But with St+Art’s Curated Tours in Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad, one can now absorb street art in a more interactive manner.

The Curated Tours are interactive walks that will take visitors through various public art spaces in the cities of Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad, and engage them in a conversation about contemporary art, the historical aspects of the location, and the stories behind each mural and project. Conducted by St+Art members themselves, these tours will provide insight into the street art movement unfolding in India vis-a-vis its development on an international scale. One will also get the opportunity to get to know more about the national and international artists behind the respective artworks. The tours will be held in Lodhi Art District in Delhi, Sassoon Docks in Mumbai, and Maqtha Art District in Hyderabad.

Starting in the month of November 2018, these tours will go on till February next year, with multiple batches at 10 am every morning. The exact dates of the tours can be found on their Instagram page.

Tickets start at INR 450 onwards (Hyderabad & Mumbai) and INR 590 onwards (Delhi). You can book your tickers here.
