Job Title: Illustration Intern

Location: Mumbai-based

Homegrown is looking for a dedicated Illustrator (full time or intern) to collaborate & create original pieces of artwork for our digital platforms. Do you thrive in creative environments and have a strong aesthetic? Are you driven by a keen eye for detail, layout, colour & art? Does it excite you to experiment and be on the pulse of new skills, ideas, narratives and instincts?

As part of our creative agency, you will play a pivotal role in creating high-quality, engaging artworks & designs for brands as well as homegrown original stories across key channels. You will work closely with the design, editorial & marketing teams delivering compelling work through research & development.

The role requires an understanding of the various social media platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter & the Web. Using your strong creative background, you will be able to create powerful stories and illustrations with strong insight into youth and social culture, identity, visual arts, music, fashion, street culture, social justice and more.

Roles/Responsibilities/Skills

  • Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Aftereffects & other relevant software. (After effects is a plus). Ability to understand offline print techniques & know how’s.

  • Strong illustration skills: A balance of identity, typography, and layout skills 

  • Conceptualise & produce content for various digital & offline platforms: Campaign execution, presentation layouts, design, Illustration for articles

  • Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the artwork’s creation. Ability to think visually, to conceptualise stories independently

  • Ability to understand identities/voices across multiple verticals to execute brand campaigns & social visual strategy

  • Engage in referencing, pitches & deck development

  • Contribute to creative and ideation discussions

  • Continuously discover and implement new technologies and industry’s best practices to maximise efficiency.

  • To work with creative directors & teams to support larger media goals and development.

  • Relevant agency experience in the related field & strong art & design background is a PLUS
