'Horn Please'

Imagine this for a second - shouldn’t be too hard to do. You’re stuck in traffic with little to do, your eyes glance over the myriad of vehicles all waiting with the same frustrating eagerness to get on, knowing full well there’s nowhere to go. There’s a large Tata truck lodged right in front of your line of sight, and as you try and look past it, that familiar line stares right back at you. You know the one we’re talking of - ‘Horn OK Please’ ofcourse!

For all those who have ever wondered how on earth this sentence came to be, or what it’s purpose is, ‘Horn Please’, a short film on Truck Art begins to answer these eternal questions of life. Focussed on a form of art not given enough due, we are given glimpses into the lives and art of truck artists, and the people who drive the vehicles. It is a fascinating revelation of all the thoughts and reasons that dictate what art adorns these trucks, and tracing the origin of this art form in particular. As with almost any other craft in today’s world, mechanization and mass production overshadow traditional forms, and this film is a great attempt at bringing this craft to light.
