One often associates a music festival with a vast, empty expanse, a magnificent stage, and innumerable heads drunkenly bobbing to the rhythm of the music. However, at the annual Magnetic Fields Festival, we add an opulent palace to the whole setting and watch the magic unfold. A three-day boutique music and art festival set in the pristine village of Alsisar in Rajasthan at the Alsisar Mahal, the sixth edition of Magnetic Fields Festival will be held from 14-16th December, 2018.

The theme for this year’s festival is ‘illumination’, “a celebration of light and its defining properties; speed, reflection, and colour”, reads the festival’s official website. The only festival in the country that allows you to either live the royal life by spending three days in the palace or camp under Rajasthan’s starry night sky, Magnetic Fields has just announced Phase 1 of their lineup and so far, it’s looking pretty impressive.

With internationally renowned names like Daphni, DJ Ez, Dbridge, Leon Vynehall, DJ Seinfeld, Henry Wu, London’s DJ Moxie, Chrome Sparks aka Jeremy Malvin, SP:MC, DJ and Journalist Courtesy, Vancouver’s IMUR, British-Pakistani artist Nabihah Iqbal , Kamaal Williams, and London-based duo Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson playing alongside a host of Indian artists like Bangalore-based DJ Unnayanaa, Delhi’s Peter Cat Recording Co., Dee En, Electronic music enthusiast Sohail Arora, and Delhi Sultanate. Other artists include Begum X. aka Samara Chopra, Paraphoniks , and Monsoon Search Party.
