HG Streams: An Indian Podcast With Refreshing Takes On Pop Culture & 420

Mrinalini Nayak

The lockdown is upon us and we’re just about out of ideas on what to do for the next 17 days. To add to our misery, it’s 4/20 for this entire month.

For those who are unaware, 420 (4th month of the year and 20 for the year 2020) is celebrated around the world as a reference to the consumption of cannabis.

If you have pored through our list of movies and TV shows, we suggest you try listening to a podcast called Popkast with Garima. We love the host’s themes and puns throughout the episode. Her music playlist has a whole range of different songs and we love how each song is well-timed to ease us into a mood befitting the theme of the episode.

The show is sassy and filled with pop culture references which makes it relatable to almost everyone listening in. Moreover, she has a variety of topics being discussed like millennial drama, social norms, and all things taboo. The 90s music references after each topic sets the mood for each episode. The host portrays a candid demeanor which makes listening to her all the more alluring. We are definitely subscribing to this podcast.

The current episode on the show is a Cannabis special for this month of 4/20. Did you know a whole month of 420 will take another 1000 years? Too much right!

We got a chance to listen to it and man do we love it! Garima takes us through a myriad of facts related to Cannabis and it speaks volumes about her research on the subject.

She also has an anonymous guest who answers some basic and highly informative questions about cannabis. All of this while she curates a playlist for stoners and regulars alike.

Tune in if you’re an aspiring entrepreneur in the hemp industry and need more information on the same. You can listen to the episode here.
