In its a first of its kind transformation, a Hyderabad school has welcomed the idea of building its very skatepark to make skateboarding an active part of the physical education curriculum. Leading this change, one school at a time is Darius, the mind behind 100 Ramps, a Bengaluru-based skatepark design company that is making the sport accessible across Indian cities.
Hyderabad’s Shri Ram academy is currently witnessing the construction of its very first skatepark making it one of the first few mainstream schools in the country to accommodate skateboarding as part of its regular curriculum. This heralds a rather pivotal shift in India’s acceptance of the sport and will allow for the growth of a community that is still in its infancy in the country.
