Amplify Music Incubator (AMI), a Goa-based artist development platform, has launched Amplify Dōjō, an online masterclass series for independent musicians, songwriters, and producers. Running across October and November, the sessions cover vocal health, mental well-being, collaborative songwriting, financial planning, and the practical challenges of sustaining a music career. The initiative extends AMI’s industry guidance to musicians beyond its formal incubator cohorts.
Based in Goa, India, Amplify Music Incubator (AMI) has spent years quietly transforming how independent musicians build their careers. Founded in 2021 by music entrepreneur Tanish Thakker, the artist development platform emerged to bridge the crucial gap between raw creative talent and the practical realities of the modern music industry. Through intensive cohorts, mentorship residencies, and hands-on guidance covering everything from business acumen to performance, Amplify has guided over a hundred artists across eight cohorts, helping emerging talent turn creative passion into sustainable, lifelong work.
Now, the incubator is opening its doors wider with the launch of Amplify Dōjō, an online masterclass series built specifically for independent musicians, songwriters, and producers at every stage of their artistic journey. Born from the recurring questions that surfaced during incubator cohorts — how to manage finances, preserve vocal health, and navigate career uncertainty — Dōjō brings the initiative's insider knowledge to the broader musical community. Running across three weeks in October and November, the series allows participants to drop into single sessions or sign up for the full program.
The inaugural lineup dives straight into the unglamorous, rarely taught realities of being an independent creator. Singer and vocal coach Mahesh Raghunandan kicks off the series on October 24 with "ReWire the Voice," a session helping artists understand their vocal mechanics to sing with greater control and minimal strain. Shortly after, Natasha Mahindra leads "Abundance Mindset for Artists" on October 30, focusing on mental health, handling creative uncertainty, and sustaining a long-term artistic life. Tanish Thakker then helms a three-day collaborative songwriting workshop from October 31 to November 2, guiding writers on co-writing techniques that foster industry relationships and new projects.
Rounding out the series on November 4, Ashwin Nath conducts a vital session on financial planning, breaking down contracts and budgeting so musicians can protect their work and make smarter career decisions. As Thakker notes, each cohort consistently brings the same core questions about money, vocal care, and longevity. By opening Dōjō, Amplify ensures those answers reach far beyond the few artists accepted into its formal incubator each year, offering a much-needed toolkit for the independent ecosystem.
