5 Holi Events Happening In Your City This Weekend

Kicking off this year’s festive season is Holi, which incidentally falls on a Friday marking a much-needed long weekend and respite from the exhausting first quarter of 2022. After two years of isolation, Holi 2022 is starting to look up as the pandemic seems to be under control at the moment.

With exciting events and Holi parties being lined up to spruce up your long weekend, organisers have are curating safe parties that continue to adhere to COVID norms. On that note, here are Homegrown picks for all that’s boozy, colourful, and happening in your city this weekend.

Curated by electronic producer Sarvesh Shrivastava who goes by the name Sickflip, Pineapples Party is launching its Holi event on Friday, 18 March. The lineup features disco artist, Discokid going back to back with Aztec Table Sound and Reeve Shroff. The day party kicks off nice and early at 11 am at Rasta Bombay and will also be headlined by Sickflip himself.

Bengaluru’s party crew at SoMAD fest is hosting a Holi edition of its monthly Sunday sundowners. The event which begins at 2 pm on Sunday, 20 March will be held at Koramangala’s picturesque Social rooftop. The lineup consists of 8 artists whose influences range between the likes of Afrobeats, Hip-hop, D&B, and Electronica enthusiasts. Additionally, a packet of organic colours will be provided complimentary along with every ticket purchase.

Shunya drinks in partnership with Sunburn music festival is hosting a three-day travelling festival that spans four cities starting tomorrow. Kicking off their holi festivities in Pune (18th March) and Goa (18th, 19th March), the festival travels to Bengaluru and Delhi over the weekend. The festival will be headlined by KSHMR, the electronic solo project of songwriter, producer Niles Hollowell-Dhar.

Once remembered as a yearly ritual, Taj West End’s iconic Holi party is back in all its glory nearly two years since the pandemic began. The event which will feature DJs and producers from across Bengaluru firing up the decks will also provide a massive open-air space and free organic colours along with ticket purchases.

India’s leading bass music producer Nucleya is headlining a Holi event set to happen at a massive open-air space located within Jaipur’s Zee studio premises. The event will begin at 10 am on 18 March.
