Drinks, Snacks & More – Mumbai Just Got A New Food Truck Park

Pankhuri Shukla

Bombay isn’t one for open-air restaurants. Sure, there are a few open air cafes and food trucks sprawled across the city, but in a city as humid, crowded, and loud as Mumbai open spaces are not exactly what most of us have in mind when we step out for a night of unwinding with good food and music. However, with The Bar Stock Exchange’s (TBSE) latest offering in Juhu, the concept of open-air restaurant is becoming a lot more enticing.

Bar Bank in Juhu isn’t just another run-of-the-mill restaurant, a lousy addition to Bombay’s already existing chain of restaurants, pubs, and cafes. With its vibrant high table chairs, colourful streamers, and palm trees overlooking the merriment, Bar Bank is the city’s first ever food truck theme park. Some would even call it a mix of Flea Bazaar Cafe in Lower Parel and the unconventional TBSE itself.

Situated opposite Bora Bora in Juhu, Bar Bank retains the unique stock exchange concept of ordering drinks and spices it up a little more with the barrage of food trucks offering a wide range of delicacies from authentic Amritsari chole kulche to Phat Fork’s delicious Asian fare. You can order your drinks using Bar Bank’s official app often at MRP or even below! And then move on to the food trucks at the venue.

Despite being one of the latest offerings in the area, word-of-mouth somehow got the better of Bar Bank. The place is almost always crowded and it’s difficult to grab a table, especially on weekends. But the setting is such that that’s hardly a concern. Unlike having to idly kill time till your name is called out at other restaurants, there’s no queuing at Bar Bank. You can always get some food and drinks while waiting for your table and get comfortable later. Also, unlike TBSE, people below the age of 25 are still allowed inside the venue. Albeit with a sticker around the wrist that is indicator of the fact that they can only drink beer and wine.

From Ministry of Eggs, Indigo Burger, and The J to Punjab Da Chulah, Shake Republic and more Bar Bank is the breath of fresh air this city has needed for a very long time. Also, it’s very pocket-friendly so drop by whenever, as many times as you’d like. We’d recommend concluding your evening with sangria-infused popsicles from the Paleteria truck.
