Farmlore Bengaluru: A Unique Dining Experience Blending Sustainability & Childhood Nostalgia

Samyukhtha Sunil

A little beyond the glitz and glamour of Bengaluru’s bustling nightlife are a range of farm and eco-stays that are offering a much-needed respite from the bludgeoning demands of city life. Located in neighbourhoods where the infamous traffic sounds get muted and the whistling sounds of the countryside breeze sweeping across is a quaint 37-acre farm and restaurant that is viewing local culture and traditions through a unique, contemporary lens.

The property, a little less than a year old is the brainchild of three stellar chefs from the city — John Ebenezer, Avinnash Vishaal and Mythrayie Iyer. With a serene view of the farm from the interiors of this contemporary-themed restaurant, Farmlore offers a holistic experience of knowing, understanding and experiencing the process of how your food is made.

The team follows ethical farming practices that involves tricks of the trades dating back to several generations. With an aim to bring the local flavour of Bengaluru and subsequently Karnataka’s gastronomy, Farmlore creates a distinct intersection between bringing the essence of the past and melding it with a futuristic dining experience.

One would be fascinated to find the comfort food of their pasts creeping its way into Farmlore’s menu and it makes the dining experience all the more heartwarming and wholesome.

Farmlore’s kitchen operates from Wednesdays to Sundays and prior bookings are mandatory as seating and experiences are limited and customised as per the client’s needs.
