Fashion Brand ‘Malie Brings Out The Beauty Of A Cultural Confluence

Meghna Mathew

The influence of cultural diversity on various facets of life is special –– it gives way to new routes of thinking and being. Apply the same into tangible objects such as clothes and accessories, and diversity shines through like never before

‘Malie, a fashion brand that celebrates culture, heritage and all such wonderful things began when founders Amalie Othilia Brandi Mikkelsen and Karandeep Singh Chadha joined forces after they met at Parsons, The New School of Design. While Amalie embraced her Danish culture while growing up in Denmark, Karandeep was rooted in India.

'Malie

Marrying the design intricacy and textiles of India with Denmark’s simplicity and comfort, fashion brand ‘Malie creates garments with a newness that is hard to miss. The collection disallows you from missing the desi feel, but also provides you with the ease you crave –– an all-rounder if you ask us. A cursory glance at their clothes will allow your mind to wander over the events (or the lack of them) to wear them to –– perfect for anything you can think of!

Here at Homegrown, we are all eyes (and hearts) for those that bring cultures together, rather than drive each other apart –– thanks to Amalie and Karandeep, we now have a fashion brand on our list that does so.
