Grab A Bib—Ministry Of Crab Is Coming To Mumbai This Year

Homegrown Staff

When Mumbai first caught a whiff of Chef Dharshan Munidasa’s pop-up earlier in 2017, you can bet plans were cancelled, just for a seat at a table there. Known for his culinary excellence, the celebrated Colombo chef is the name (and force) behind two hugely successful restaurants in Sri Lanka — Ministry of Crab and Nihonbashi. Imagine our surprise, when we heard that he was planning to then turn this Ministry of Crab pop-up, into a more permanent fixture, in our very own city!

It’s no secret how much this state appreciates its seafood, but Ministry Of Crab brings with it pure, crustacean heaven, unlike anything else in this city. In Sri Lanka, both Ministry of Crab and Nihonbashi continue to maintain their ranks within Asia’s Top 50 Best Restaurants year after year; which is no easy feat. Munidasa had also recently opened The Tuna And The Crab, a hybrid Japanese and seafood restaurant, and Kaema Sutra, focusing on contemporary Sri Lankan cuisine; in Galle and Colombo respectively.

All set to launch in Mumbai within a few months, Chef Dharshan Munidasa has decided to partner with Gourmet Investments Pvt. Ltd. for his latest venture. Make a note of this one folks, here’s one restaurant you definitely want to keep an eye out for in 2018!
