Homegrown Label Rias Jaipur Embodies Artisanal Skills & Modern Designs

The Indian fashion landscape is witnessing a resurgence in demand for handloom products. Because of the want and the need to build sustainable wardrobes, brands are stepping forward to whip up amalgamations of organic textile fabrics and contemporary silhouettes.

One such brand leading the charge of homegrown brands venturing into handloom territory is Rias Jaipur. The emerging clothing brand’s pieces embody artisanal skills and modern designs. Kickstarted by Arshia Bhargava and Avishek Mandal, an NIFT duo, the Jaipur based clothing brand are powering an engaging conversation in the fields of fashion, design and craftsmanship.

Their collection features intricate uses of two ancient Indian crafts - dabu or bagru and hand block printing onto handspun fabrics, Rias’s vision fuses handloom techniques from different states like Rajasthan and West Bengal with Indian textiles to create wearable art resonates with the current wave of fashion. Artisanal skill and modern designs are at the core of Rias Jaipur’s vision that revolves around innovating and showcasing age-old weaves with a modern twist.

The label’s take on handloom resonates with the millennial consumer market that seeks to carry forward traditional pizazz in contemporary silhouettes.
