Currently living in Bangaluru, Ramakrishna is a 55-year-old watchman who was diagnosed with throat cancer due to his beedi addiction. Sooner than he would have thought, he had to get this voice box removed and undergo an expensive western voice prosthesis. Although, since it had a shell life of only six months, he couldn’t afford a new one after using it for two years and alas, lost his voice again.
