Over the scattered periods of lockdown, we have seen weddings take various forms. From at-home, quiet weddings to Zoom weddings; we believed we saw it all.
As we welcome 2022, the wedding space is only reaching newer, creative heights.
In a first, a couple from Tamil Nadu, Janaganandhini Ramaswamy and Dinesh SP will be hosting their wedding reception in the metaverse! While the main wedding event will be held in their village, Sivalingapuram, the follow-up celebratory event will be held in a virtual space in February. To top it off, it will be Hogwarts themed.

Dinesh has also planned to facilitate the presence of his fiancée’s late father at the event, in the form of a virtual avatar.
Chennai-based startup, Tardi Verse, will be responsible for the metaverse reception. Vignesh Selvaraj will head the project using polygon blockchain technology.
With their metaverse Hogwarts-themed wedding reception, the couple is taking one big step into the future and it wouldn’t be surprising if several people around the world hop on the bandwagon!
