'Mosaic Of Modernity': Attend A Celebration Of Diversity Across Contemporary Indian Art

Disha Bijolia

From folk and classical types of art like Madhubani and Mughal miniatures, that focused on styles to more contemporary forms that are differentiated based on mediums like oil, acrylics or gouache, the way fine art is created and perceived has changed shape in many ways. This month a group show in Bangalore aims to capture just that. From July 15 to August 15, Gallery G, in collaboration with the Sandeep & Gitanjali Maini Foundation is hosting ‘Mosaic of Modernity: Exploring Diversity in Art’. This exceptional group exhibition showcases the works of eight talented Indian artists, each bringing their distinct artistic perspective and medium in a showcase of contemporary Indian art.

The exhibition promises a captivating exploration of a multitude of styles and themes. Admire the mythical narratives and intricate details brought to life in Jai Khanna's colourful paintings. Dinesh Magar's bold compositions pulsate with dynamic energy, reflecting his deep connection with nature and spirituality. Aarohi Singh's versatile portfolio encompasses everything from traditional folk art to contemporary interpretations, all imbued with rich cultural narratives.

For those seeking serenity, Damodar Aware's abstract masterpieces capture the contemplative beauty of landscapes and natural elements. Tushar Shinde's art bursts with expressions of colour and form, drawing inspiration from the silhouettes of cityscapes. Runa Biswas's mixed-media creations delve into profound themes of identity and memory, incorporating collage and text to create introspective pieces. Annamicka Kuchhan's delicate brushwork and subtle hues explore nature and life. Finally, Tridib Bera's sculptures, characterised by bold lines and dramatic contrasts, challenge viewers to contemplate human emotions and societal issues.

Both Gallery, a premier art gallery located in Bangalore, and The Sandeep & Gitanjali Maini Foundation have a mission to promote art and artistic endeavours through exhibitions and events. Falling with their ethos is the Mosaic of Modernity group show, which aims to highlight each artist's unique voice and contribute to a powerful conversation about art, identity, and the human experience. This is a must-see exhibition for anyone interested in exploring the diverse landscape of contemporary Indian art.
