Homegrown Staff

So what happens when two dessert behemoths meet at the crossroads of nostalgia and global dessert trends? Classic French patisserie ‘Le 15 Patisserie’ and artisanal ice creamery ‘Sucres Des Terres’ team up as the summer furor reaches its peak, to offer up some dessert divinity and bring to the city of Mumbai its very first ice cream macaron.

While the idea of ice cream sandwiches is likely to launch you instantly into the nostalgia of enjoying the treat in your childhood, Le 15’s delectable macarons and the sinful ice cream from Sucres Des Terres come together to deliver a contemporary spin on the classic summer treat. Bringing to the city the newest dessert trend, this dream collaboration is going to be offering these bite-sized treats for the entire month of June in three maddeningly tempting flavours: Vanilla (Clean Mean Vanilla Bean), Espresso (Espresso Shake Me) and Dark Chocolate (Round, Dark & Handsome).

Kunali Dattoobhai, owner of the land of the indulgent ice cream flavours Sucres Des Terres, says, “Wanderlust is why we dreamt up Sucres Des Terres. Our creative inspiration is an ode to the flavours we miss and long for, from our childhood, travels and experiences. Pooja and I are both reminiscent of our time in Paris, and we’re happy to share those memories through this collaboration.”

So are we, Kunali, so are we. Pooja Dhingra, The owner of Le 15 Patisserie and alumni of Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, adds, “Both Le 15 Patisserie and Sucres Des Terres share a strong synergy in their attempt to deliver surprising and unique tastes, flavours and sensations. We think that it is the perfect time for Mumbai to taste the ice cream macaron and are glad to be introducing it together.”

You know we’re always on the lookout for delicious dessert innovations and by additionally making the summer heat more bearable, these ice cream macarons have quite won our hearts. Mark your calendars for the month of June for this one!
