Nature Comes Alive At This Radical Red-Brick Farmhouse Just Outside Mumbai

Julian Manning

Just outside the reaches of Mumbai lies the coolest farmhouse, a radical design standing out on a vast stretch of farmland. Despite the structure’s unconventional build, its many curves and juts interact seamlessly with the locale’s landscape speckled with ambling hills. This brick masterpiece was created by the creative minds at i.STUDIO architecture and reflects a perfect union of progressive design coupled with traditional building techniques.

The farm home was constructed without going overboard on expenditure, the merit of the structure lying in the interacting elements of curved lattice jali walls that welcome in pools of light that brighten the oval interior. This courtyard invites in passing breezes and offers expansive views of the locations soothing, rural surroundings. Let’s just say leaning back on a wicker chair next to courtyard’s pond would be the perfect place to dive into a good book or take an afternoon siesta.

Smooth tree trunk pillars support the space-agey covering of the open area, and on the outer ring of the ground floor lies a large kitchen perfect for family cookouts. If one takes the stone staircase to the first floor they’ll find two bedrooms, a peaceful study and breathtaking balcony. Mornings made up of basking on a balcony whilst taking in a lungfull of fresh, rural air with a hot cup of tea in your hand come true at this heavenly abode. Keep up the great architecture i.STUDIO.
