Pet Project: Toni Meneguzzo Photographs Decorated Cows Across Rural India

Admin
We’d be the first to admit the traditional model route in fashion photography has gotten a bit stale. Who wants to see the same old angled-cheekbone, hollowed-collar, vacant-gazed men and women when we could see the polished, black hoof or a perfectly curled horn? At least that’s what Toni Meneguzzo, one of Milan’s most well renowned fashion lensman, seems to have thought while focussing his trained eye on India’s sacred cows to create this unique series.
“In a way, it’s like shooting models. I’m still looking for a good composition: four legs on show, a good profile, perhaps one hoof slightly forward, the head turned. Cows, like fashion models, have such serene elegance.”
“Jackson Pollock.”
“It was modern art.”
