As we witness the exciting shift in art paving its way into digital spaces as well, let’s not forget the incredible milieu of graphic designers brushing up our design-consciousness with exciting art and inspiring visuals.

If you’re the type to explore the wild side of graphic design that packs a punch of colours and shapes, then Pranav Bhardwaj is the homegrown graphic designer to explore.

As an innovative designer, his recent project of creating a free Dyslexic Font to help amplify the struggle of dyslexics through design has created much buzz. We got candid with Pranav about his impactful typeface for people on the dyslexic spectrum. Pranav and his partner Rocio Egio worked on this project during Dyslexia Awareness Month in October 2021.

The idea for the project struck Pranav when he scrolled through Rocio’s Instagram post that presented an ‘imperfectly perfect’ version of the alphabets. With a solid belief in constructing a design that speaks a universal language, Pranav and Rocio’s dream project blends fun and functionality altogether.

The Dyslexic Font project essentially stands out as being an inspiration-based project that draws attention towards people on the dyslexia spectrum. Its aim is to engage in meaningful discussions and to organize a collective effort of qualified professionals to provide adequate visibility and support to those who live with dyslexia.

‘We went with the original colours used by Rocio. The palette is arranged around peppy and cheerful vibes. I wanted the font to be purposeful. So we made it available for free on her website.’
