Evolv Creates Clothing That's Accessible, Transparent & Ethically Conscious

“There is no beauty in the finest cloth if it makes hunger and unhappiness”

- Mahatma Gandhi

Unfortunately, this statement sums up the current state of the fashion industry; an economy functioning on bare minimum wages for the factory workers and creating clothing out of cheap materials causing immense levels of pollution. A recent survey conducted by the UN Environmental Programme found that fashion accounts for up to 10% of global carbon dioxide production, more than international flights and shipping combined.

Within India alone, more than 1 million tonnes of textiles are thrown away every year, a result of the fast fashion system that has engulfed the Indian market. Replacing the more sustainable practices with rapid consumption using harmful materials. With the current state of our waste production, we need companies who rethink their production process in order to aim for greener and more ethically conscious collections.

One such company is Evolv Clothing, which prioritises environmental sustainability and ethical work environments that bring economic opportunities to communities working in the system. With a vision to create fashion that ‘opens minds and closes loops by reducing waste’, the entire chain of production follows sustainable processes, focusing on efficiency yet remaining mindful of their ecological impact.

Their goal is to align conscious fashion with inclusivity. As clothing companies adopt sustainable practices, their prices shoot up and a huge population is left out. Evolv plans to rectify this issue by making great design accessible to all. This widens the scope of eco-friendly clothing, by reaching the masses rather than an elite few.

The company has a transparent production system that offers traceability of its supply chain as well. Evolv clothing has pieces that remain relevant in the space of fashion today without hampering the product quality, craftsmanship or sustainability quotient.
