Meet The Instagram Artist Whose NSFW Illustrations Are Inspired By Everyday Phrases

There’s no denying that Banksy’s popularity is further driven by their anonymity — it certainly adds to the excitement upon discovering a new piece of art. However, social media has made it considerably easier to maintain anonymity while reaching out to the masses. If getting catfished is still a thing, it can’t be too hard to keep up an online persona for the sake of art. That exact sentiment is shared by this anonymous Instagram artist who delights in portraying daily phrases through their intimate imagination.

Petites Luxures is an artist whose nude art often got them into trouble back in school. However, they turned this bad luck around and today have a good 863,000 followers on Instagram! The artist uses illustrations to portray their witty play on words. Keeping it simple with white paper inked over with a black pen, the drawings let what’s missing do the real talking. In a rare interview, the artist explains what keeps them inspired, “Everything in my daily life: a colour, a song, a word, a moment… I always write down inspiring things during the day, then when I’m back home in the evening I try to find ideas of erotic scenes from these ideas.”
