Cards Against Sanskaar Might Soon Be A Reality – Here’s How You Can Help

On April Fool’s Day, this year many people from different parts of the country found themselves laughing at their own gullibility due to a prank, which due to popular demand might soon become reality.

Designers Adrita Das & Karan Dilip carried out this practical joke, earlier this year, where they claimed to launch for the citizens of India ‘Cards Against Sanskaar’, the country’s very own take ‘Cards Against Humanity’ with their website stating that with “Each round, one bhakt asks a dharm-sankat question from a black card, and everyone else answers with their funniest unsanskaari white card.” The idea for the same occurred to them a while back spontaneously while enjoying a round of the popular game, causing them to set up a site for their elaborate joke and sit back and watch people appreciate their sense of humour.

They were taken aback by the response they got from the public for what was planned to be a harmless joke. They were swarmed by requests from people all over the country to turn it into reality. “The ideas that people sent to us for the cards turned out to be far more radical than our own .” said Adrita. The overwhelming reaction that they received led them to seriously try their hand to bring the concept to life.

After nights of discussing and deliberating dark jokes and designing and testing the results out on friends and family, they have finally decided to give birth to the Indian version of the game named ‘Cards Vs Sanskar’ which according to them is a party game that ‘the nation wants to play’. They are now launching a crowdfunding campaign to produce limited editions decks of the same and other merchandise like T-shirts, tote bags and hand printed pins showcasing their dark humour.

The game is ideal for those that feel suffocated by the current atmosphere of intolerance in the country, looking for a release for their dissatisfaction and dissent against the society without costing themselves their lives or well-being. Those interested in pitching in some funds and doing their bit for the same can visit their website and be a part of the campaign. Interestingly, they also promise a refund to all the supporters and go back to being a prank if the campaign goal isn’t reached.
