The coronavirus-induced COVID-19 pandemic has had several sections of our society and economy compromised. Collectives, private and public, are rallying to help and are using innovative interactive methods to engage the audience whilst collecting funds to siphon the support.

The gaming community in India has a massive following and they are working together with diverse collectives to reach out to the helpless.

To promote this cause, Homegrown has partnered with Fnatic and a list of industry powerhouses to use our strength and voice to make the difference we wish to see in the world.

Fnatic presents #GamingForGood, a PUBG MOBILE charity tournament for and by the Indian gaming and e-sports community. This is an initiative to raise funds to help some of those affected due to the currently ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The funds raised will be given to Feeding India, Maker’s Asylum and 4DogSake.

The tournament is being organized by Fnatic with support from endemic and non-endemic partners. Besides Homegrown, the list of partners includes AFK Gaming, Villager Esports and BookMyShow.

The tournament will be broadcast live exclusively on Loco, Pocket Aces’ game streaming platform. It will be live-streamed on Loco from the April 03-05. Games will kick off on each day at 2.45 PM IST. Spread across 3 days, a total of 18 games will be played.

The prize pool for the tournament is INR 2 lakh which will be split amongst the top three positions along with an award for the ‘best fragger’ and the ‘best fan’. The winning teams will donate their prize money to any one of two pre-decided non-profits. These include Zomato Feeding India which is a fund to support families of the daily wage workers in India in the absence of employment opportunities and 4DOG’SAKE India who is looking after stray dog welfare in the Delhi/NCR region during the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. The distribution of the prize pool will be as follows:

1st: INR 1 lakh

2nd: INR 50,000

3rd: INR 20,000

MVP: INR 10,000

Highest donation: INR 10,000

In addition to this, all community members, e-sports fans and viewers tuning in to the live-stream will be able to donate to the cause. Contributions can be made in any amounts via Paytm donations to the official GamingForGood number +91 9326786524.
