Have you ever walked around the city and wondered about the art that thrives in its nooks and crannies, hidden and waiting to be discovered? Then Art Fervour, a two-year old art tech startup founded by Nivedita Poddar, is the companion and guide that you have been looking for in your journey as an art enthusiast.

Started with the goal of making art accessible to the young Indian population, the platform is designed to give customized recommendations to its users through a PERSONA quiz. Whether it’s classic pieces that are revered by art lovers or young, emerging artists featured on their Fresh AF list, everyone can find something on Art Fervour that resonates with their sense of aesthetic.

On 5 and 6 February this year, Art Fervour brings to you the first online, multidisciplinary art festival of India, popularly known as ‘The AF Weekender’. The art enthusiasts have a reason to cheer as the two-day virtual event will feature talks, master classes, storytelling sessions with distinguished speakers from various disciplines such as urban art, technology, design, fine art, heritage, storytelling and conservation.

In accordance with the ‘new normal’, the 2021 AF Weekender will be held digitally with limited attendees who can register via Art Fervour’s website. The registrations for the event are free and the attendees will be given access to the programmes via Zoom as per the permitted capacity of each session.

The sessions will cover a wide range of topics from fakes and forgeries, collecting affordable art, to reinventing urban spaces with street art as well as the role of data science and AI technologies in the future of art.

Art Fervour has roped in eminent veterans from the art industry including Akansha Rastogi, Senior Curator at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi; Anupam Sah, curator & head conservator at CSMVS Museum; India’s first art lawyer, Debottam Bose; Giulia Ambrogi, co-founder of St+art India; Farah Siddiqui, art advisor and curator; Aditya Mehta, founder of Art & Found; and Harshit Agrawal, new media artist & creative technologist for the event. They will also be taking up questions from the audience post their respective speaker sessions.

“AF Weekender has been conceptualised keeping in mind our mission to increase accessibility to the world of art,” says Art Fervour’s Founder, Nivedita Poddar.

“Being held virtually, the event aims at bringing art to the screens of young urban art enthusiasts. The star-studded lineup and cross-disciplinary discussions are the most exciting reasons to sign up for this event.”
