Mumbai, Attend An Exhibition Where You'll Experience Altered Reality Through Reflections

Do we appear different when viewing our reflection on a natural surface like a still pool of water compared to a man-made object like a mirror? Does the self-reflection alter when the medium changes into a self-portrait captured on a camera? These were some of the questions scampering around my mind when I first viewed Bhupal Ramnathkar’s photography series, titled ‘Reflections’.

After the impressive success of his debut exhibition in February 2023, renowned visual artist Bhupal Ramnathkar proudly introduces Reflections 2.0, the second edition of his captivating photography series presented by Snowball Studios.

Bhupal Ramnathkar is a highly skilled artist, advertising art director, and graphic designer known for his creative visual storytelling. Over the course of forty years, Ramnathkar has consistently impressed audiences with his powerful and imaginative artwork. This exhibition is a wonderful amalgamation of his invaluable artistic experience and deftly captures his ‘ways of seeing’. In Reflections 2.0, he turns his gaze toward the enchanting landscape of 'Paradise on Earth,' crafting a mesmerizing visual journey that goes beyond the conventions of traditional photography.

Infusing his artwork with a touch of grandeur, Ramnathkar employs 24-carat gold accents, monumental screens, and intricate layering techniques to transform his imagery into an immersive experience. Ramnathkar challenges the limits of his subject, encouraging spectators to ponder the world from his distinct point of view.

Reflecting on the intersection of reality and imagination, Reflections 2.0 invites participants to embark on a journey of discovery, where there is a thin and blurred line between reflection and reality. Through his skillful manipulation of images and materials, Ramnathkar beckons audiences to immerse themselves in a world both familiar and fantastical.
