Located on the ground floor of the Park Hotel, Someplace Else is undoubtedly one of the most popular destinations for live music lovers. Someplace Else has a long-standing reputation for hosting some of the best live music performances in the city, spanning across genres. The venue has a history of featuring local and national artists across different genres, ensuring that there is always something for everyone. Also, the ambiance of the venue is unique, with a relaxed and intimate atmosphere that allows for an up-close and personal experience with the artists. II. Skinny Mo's Jazz Club

This is one of the newest venues in town solely dedicated to hosting artists who will play ragtime, blues, and funky jazz tunes for you. When you think of seedy jazz bars, places like Brooklyn or Manhattan come to mind, but in Kolkata, we have our very own Skinny Mo's Jazz Club. The dimly lit space and the cozy seating arrangements add to the overall ambiance and make it a great spot for a night out with friends or a date. The owner is still working on securing an alcohol license for the venue but their current menu features amazing food and mocktails to go along with it. This two-story hub for jazz lovers is housed in one building that dates back to the 1950s. The owner has restored the ancient building to its former glory, paying special attention to its art deco style.

III. Miss Ginko

This is another beautiful venue located in the heart of south Kolkata. It serves delicious Asian cuisine and is one of the few places which provide a space for good house, hip-hop, and electronic music. The 150-seater hang-out spot is perfect for a day out with your friends and loved ones. Footlights lend a warm glow to the dark alleyway that leads you to the inside of the restaurant. Inside, is a gigantic glass house with predominant shades of white, emerald green, and brown that make you feel you are in Marbella in Spain or Greece. The bar looks aesthetic with a mixed seating arrangement and a DJ console behind it. They host some of the best DJs in Kolkata and beyond and besides live music, the venue also hosts R&B, Dj-ing, and hip-hop workshops from time to time.

IV. Hard Rock Cafe

The venue, belonging to the globally famous franchise, is located on the street that never sleeps. Hard Rock Cafe is a special venue that is a multilevel, spacious café that includes seating for 161 guests, a vibrant bar, and a live entertainment space. The city's local musicians love performing in this venue. It boasts a state-of-the-art audio-visual system along with a diverse food and menu ranging from Paneer Shaslikor to American classic burgers.The venue has a unique ambiance, with walls adorned with rock and roll memorabilia and a stage that has hosted some of the biggest names in music. The atmosphere is electric and the energy is palpable, making it a great spot for a night out with friends. The connected Rock Shop offers rock ‘n’ roll-inspired apparel and collectible merchandise that are exclusive to Hard Rock Cafe Kolkata. V. Chaitown Community

Unlike the previous venues in our list, Chaitown Community is a rather small and more intimate space. It does not have flashy lights or the most expensive sound equipment but what makes it special is that they create an atmosphere - the kind that you will experience as if you are attending a live music concert on your friend’s terrace. Also, they feature some rare jewels in the city’s music circuit from time to time that includes folk, rock, jazz, pop, and blues acts. Other than live music events, Chaitown Community conducts workshops, regular music and fitness classes, and on the whole stands as a community that nurtures creativity.
