If you’ve ever had a brush with the electronic music scene, locally or internationally, the words will Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) inspire nothing short of wild exhilaration. Until now, India has been resigned to watch from afar while the biggest dance music festival tours across the USA, Mexico, the UK and even Brazil, but this year things are about to change. Thanks to event management giants Insomniac and OML, in partnership with Budweiser, Electric Daisy is all set to make its Indian debut in Delhi this November.
Since its inception in 1996, it has made a name as the very best destination for EDM lovers the world over and in 2010 had earned the title ‘American Ibiza’. The first ever EDC was a small one day event in Los Angeles hosting a mere 5,000 people, but despite its humble origins it snowballed into one of the biggest parties on the planet and in June the Las Vegas leg of the tour saw a turnout of around 400,000 fans.
The music lovers aren’t the only people thrilled by this introduction to India, Founder and CEO of Insomniac Pasquelle Rotella has been waiting for this day for a long time “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the country’s colourful and exotic culture. I know it’s a place where the magic of EDC can come alive in a truly unique way, and we’ve got amazing partners in Only Much Louder (OML) and Budweiser who can help make that happen” he says regarding this historic moment.
There are few festivals in the EDM world that create a buzz quite like this and the EDC is foremost among them for a reason. Their dedication to creating a multidimensional, fully immersive experience – from production and design to sourcing the very best talent in the world – means that they have a reputation for being the very best. It’s an amazing opportunity for India to become part of this global phenomenon so head over to Delhi on the 12th and 13th of November to experience the rush the world has been talking about.
