There’s a wave of helplessness and despair that weighs heavily on all our hearts amidst these times of travesty. However, carrying the beacon of hope are artists rallying for a cause and urging the masses to stay strong and selflessly contribute towards helping those in need.

Leading the array of artists shedding light on the COVID-19 horrors is Bengaluru-based hip-hop artist Hanumankind whose latest single ‘Second Wave’ relays the unprecedented horrors that the pandemic has cast all over the country. Along the short yet impactful composition, HMK posted a heartfelt message and plea for contributing to COVID-19 relief and doing our bit in these difficult times.

‘‘A composition of what we’ve been seeing, feeling, and sharing all around during the situation in India.

Please understand that it IS this bad. Close friends and relatives have all personally told me how terrible it is in their personal covid stories.

How unprepared and vulnerable the population is currently leaves me feeling so helpless. It’s one thing to be able to go out there and help. It’s another to know that doing that very act can put more lives in danger.’’

— HANUMANKIND

The track features the artist rapping on a gritty hip hop beat about the despair and deaths caused by systemic failure and religious extremism which ends with a tinge of hope and prayer for everyone’s safety and recovery. The visuals for the video have been compiled by Bijoy Shetty and the beats are accredited to Akash Shravan.
