Indian Musician ‘Pen Tap Guy’ Makes Beats By Using Just Pens

Once in a while, we come across some creative musician who makes us go “I wish I could do that.” We’ve all spent countless hours tapping our pens and pencils on the desk while bored at school, college or even our workplace. But how many of us can claim that we can follow through with beat and rhythm?

Chennai-based drummer and percussionist Sriram Ravi certainly can. The musician who is India’s homegrown PentapGuy has been able to amass a loyal following with his incredible talent. With music flowing through his earphones, he seems immersed in the act of producing music solely by tapping the pen on a surface. He sometimes even uses his stool and other vessels to create beats.

The way the percussionist catches the beat and gives it a unique twist with his own beat production is a delight to watch. It not only gets you excited and in the groove but also has you tapping on your desk and any surface you can find trying to imitate the beats.
