List of Mumbai Rain Hosts Opening Their Homes To Anyone Who Needs Shelter

With Mumbai experiencing a continuous and heavy downpour that - according to the weather reports - is going to continue for the next 24 hours, several areas in the city have been flooded to the point of waist-deep water, bringing traffic to a standstill. Thousands of men, women, children and animals are stuck in the downpour with nowhere to go.

Although the disaster management team and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are on alert, it has been observed that their emergency helplines are clogged. In this hour of crisis, several Samaritans of Mumbaikars have created a crowd-sourcing group to bring together the Mumbai Rain Hosts who are willing to help needy people by offering them food and shelter. The group is called the Mumbai Rain Hosts - August 2017.
